Children’s Services of Roxbury’s mission statement reflects its commitment to Strengthening Families across Massachusetts.
We strive to provide high-quality services to economically-disadvantaged children, youth, families, and individuals thereby promoting and strengthening family life and individual growth.
We are working to strengthen families so that children and youth are protected from abuse and neglect, nurtured and supported to reach their full potential, and prepared to take their rightful place in the world.
We believe all children and youth, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, deserve safe, caring, and supportive environments in which to grow and learn.
We envision families in which parents and other adults feel hopeful about the future, confident in their ability to support the children in their lives, and motivated to access and advocate for resources that will support themselves and their family.
We envision communities where members are whole, stable and have a shared sense of responsibility for the well-being of all children and youth.
The core values of CSR—dignity, respect, compassion, humility, integrity, excellence, and patience—reflect our approach to serving others and achieving desired outcomes.
We recognize that every individual, every family, and every community has enormous strengths, yet too often they are defined by their presenting problem. We understand that in order to build trust and identify those strengths, we must begin with humility and treat the people we serve with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances.
We must act with compassion and patience, having an ability to care and empathize without judgment. We must operate with integrity, knowing that the people we serve need us to be consistent and true to our word.
Finally, we must serve, striving for excellence in everything we do.
